the gardeners, maids, and laborers are. the rest of them would be running a proper mafia if they were as smart as the italians used to be.

I said "hard working and honest people". if your concept of being smart is to be able to succeed through criminal activities. then my friend... well...

    ..touche..

I don't know what to say to that..

if they have kids that are legal than you can apply for sponsorship. its not hard. why not do it?

  • khilled0

well the government here is doing everything they can to get more immigrants here because it'll help, 'illegals' can be incorporated a lot easier here for a reason

  • Boz0

exactly dinky...so there are ways, but no it's easier to live out of the economy.

    you said immigrants
in order for you to be an immigrant, you need to have vasted interest in investment. thats why the gov is asking. more investment, more money for the economy. illegals generally come in to the country with nothing. they ask for social assistance. thats very different.

indeed, why pay taxes as a legal when you dont have to

  • Meeklo0

Meeklo you have a point and I agree, but by US laws when your kid is born here he/she automatically get a citizenship, meaning that you (not you literally, but you know what I mean) can get a legal status too after a while. So these people that have been living here for decades and have their own kids with american citizenship, are most likely citizens or at least legal residents here.

Well.. then these people I'm talking about must not exist then...

    ;)

I take that it's wasn't as hard for you to migrate.
congrats! Don't ever forget your roots! I trully hope your family is well and safe!

What's very stupid is that all these people leave mexico thinking life in the us will be great for them. When in fact they can suffer more.

I have met a lot poor people that think life is better on the other side, but they say that coz they don't know anything.

I remember once I was working at one of the cell phone shops my dad owns and this two truckers, who were very very nice people btw, came to ask for a phone because their truck had all sorts of problems and they stiil had to drive like 8 hours more.

I gave them some chocolates and coke we had in there coz they hadn't eaten anything for a long while. We just chatted for a good 30 minutes and they pretty much complaiend about their inept boss who always refused to fix and take care of his trucks.
I remember they made comments like " maybe we should just go across the border and get any job there coz people say they pay good there" They also thought mexicans were happier there, but I had to tell them that it was all bullshit. Most mexicans in the us don't enjoy their jobs and get exploited and discrininated against. it is not what people think of it. if you go there legally your life can be good, but illegaly you are simply not going be alright. My dad also overheard what we were talking about and also told them that their life on the other side would not be better.

They couldn't say anything except "really? we didn't know that. people say it's better on the other side"
My dad simply ended the whole thing asking them "what would you prefer. Be poor here but bing happy with all your family and friends, knowing you're safe and that you won't be discriminated against...or Be poor over there and not be that happy because you would know you can get deported at any time and now being able to fully enjoy life without your faimily and friends?"

They were very naive about the whole situation and life for illegal immigrants on the other side.

Justify yourself, so you don't end up looking like a racist.

Prev, Next Respond I understand Vector:
    And I do agree..

but I can take your concept even further..

what about the inmigrants that came to america, and almost anihilated an entire race in order to make that their home?

It's sad how people forget these things, like if history started 5 years ago..

Being myself a son and grandson of inmigrants, still running through the whole process, paying taxes and lawyer fees in order to be able to stay close to the person I love. Speak and write 3 languages, and learning my fourth. in order to communicate better with other humans. I do not approve people jumping over any borders, but I know people that have been in the US for so freaking long, that their american born sons are already parents, and all their family and life is in here..

Give these people a break, they are no thiefs, just honest people that have been working hard for decades...

I understand what you are saying.I completely agree that these people are honest and hard working people. They are quite amazing people and if I may say they are sometimes the nicest people around because they know how to enjoy and take the most out of the most basics of life. No crap, no materialities, no ps2, nothing. Just the pleasure of each other company with some drinks and tv to catch their soccer and some music.

The problem is that this has gone way out of hand that it has hurt many. the us residents, themselves and mexican residents.

    What about immiration laws?
What's the whole point of work permits? borders? fees? documentation?

Like I said I am trying to stay in canada. I have been here since 1998 under temporary visas, feel almost canadian and I am currently having a very stressful time trying to fulfill every single time the requirements CIC imposes.

What about us? what about the thousands of people who spend money, who wait years in some cases for a positive answer from immigration, who studied hard with this purpose in mind, who truly care about the new land they wanna call home by joining their society and not just creating a new society in that new society?

I once had to fricking spend 2000 CAD on a stupid medical test just to simply get an extension on my student permit. Anybody could've used those 2000 to buy a greyhound bus ticket to texas with his buddies and celbrate for crossing succesfully at Tony Roma's.

What about the people who want to immigrate legally?
Should I also protest in front of the office of British Columbia's premier Gordon Campbell????
And if I do it should I get even more free benefits than the illegal aliens, simply because I took the right way to immigrate. the legal way??

  • niconico0

    7th+flower to 2nd+central took an
    HOUR.

i was a complete idiot for driving.

my response to the arguement "come here legally and work or don't come here at all"

Well, I think we (us, he thousands of people who spend money... blah blah blah..) are fortunate enough that our parents did well enough for them to be able to provide us with the education and care we needed in order to succeed in life. And for that I will ever be thankfull. Because of them I was able to do things that my grandparents couldn't.
And that includes the sensitivity to appreciate those that are not as fortunate as I was. But hey, that's just me.

Here is a messed up fact about immigration:
I used to work for the largest malpractice insurance agency in texas. They won't touch obgyn docs in the el paso area because mexican nationals with absolutely zero prenatal care will come accross the border to have their children. Subsequently many of them have birth defects/deaths and in turn sue the doctors. Sometimes they win and sometimes they do not. but millions and millions are spent in legal preceedings because of it.

lots of other medical issues of this nature happen. and the cost is passed on to you and me. - the ones that can't get the medical proceedures we want because we cant afford our deductables..
    fucked up situation.

  • khilled0

I would argue that less is done about these cases because in many ways the government prefers lawsuits so they can spend more on laywers and protect their lawyer buddies jobs

in this case they won't criminalize their corporate buddies for example

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/1203…

time and time again 'the people' are criminalized while 'people' of power build a fortress of legislation and policy that makes them rich powerful

  • shilohous0

the government does not retain the lawyers that defend the doctors..
