Wait shellie's pregnant??
Sounds like dude is kind of a space cadet. I think he kinda got spooked and retracted his antennae after the fact, like most of us dudes do.

I've been living here since '97.
Originally from San Antonio, Tx.As soon as I visited here in the summer of '96, I knew I had to move here.
You should visit again. It just keeps growing.

I make it a point to 'NEVER' ask a person what they do for cash.
a.] I think everyone goes through a time in their life where, regardless of the amount they are making, thay are sickened by having to drag themselves to their HATED job.
b.] I know that I am not a reflection of what I do, and or have done for a living, so asking the question amounts to small talk, I don't really want or need anymore small talk.
c.] Some people have reasons to hide what they do [e.g. drug dealer]. It amazes me that they don't always have a 'story' to offer as to what they actually do when asked [not by me]
d.] People are always spin doctoring their 'status' anyway to give the best possible scenario. We are after all humans=liars
e.] You live in LA. I lived in LA for 5 years. It's the most ego centric place I have ever been. There are just as many goldiggers as there are posers. YEECH!

yes shellie i get that all the time. mostly cause i was voted class clowin in high school and was kind of a douchbag.
i guess it's just sometimes uncomfortable running into someone you lost touch of cause you feel like the bad guy for not keeping in touch.
a few weeks ago i ran into an ex girlfriends sister i hadn't seen in like 12 years. holy hell did she grow up. twice during the first 2 minutes i asked 'so how have you been?' cause i was so nervous. and twice she answered 'great, so how have you been?' back. it was just odd.
i think she wanted to have sexors with me. at least that's what my pee pee was thinking.

Here in Scottsdale we call 'em:
"35,000 Millionaires™"
The ones with the H2's and a job at Trader Joe's.

what if the guy, never even thought about your situation? what if this is all in your mind? what if he doesn't really care abotu what you are doing these days? what if he doesn't see that working at an Ad agency is the ultimate goal at all?
I didn't really read more than one post here, but maybe he just run out to get some fruit or something :)

HOWEVER...
have you guys ever run into someone you havent seen in y-e-a-r-s. and the first thing they say is "SOOOO IM DOING _____... WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
What the hell? I've gotten that one, too. I like to ask if people are living happy and healthy. That's all that matters... money isn't everything to most people. I guess it means a lot to me but it doesn't have to be the same to everyone else to feel like theyre living a good life.
It seems as though in the states especially, your life revolves around how much money you can make and how much stuff you can have. But really all you get is living in debt, unless you're one of the new lucky ones who can manage to pay houses and cars off in cash.
Recently I had a conversation about dept with a friend and he said hes already 100k in the whole because he went to art centre on loans. ouch.

shellie a lot of guys have much more delicate egos than women.
he is probably intimidated, which is no fault of yours.
if you're really into him try to set up a face to face hang-out and he will see how awesome you are and that you're not about rubbing his face in your success.
