jevad, in all honesty, it's very difficult to join in a religious group (any group for that matter) that does not tell you what to do or what not to do.
it's called "group psychology" and "conforming".
this also happens culturally, not just religiously.
it's just natural that when group of people get together, you have to agree on something and if someone does something others don't agree on, it gets condemned upon.
so, if you want to give church a go, i suggest reading bible by yourself.

jevad, If I may suggest...
The whole concept of the Church comes from Christ. He instituted it. So, I would suggest that you find a church that upholds what he taught. Namely, a church that studies and teaches the Bible as the inerrant word of God. The Bible gives some clear guidelines about what a healthy, well-balanced church is.
It’s through our attendance at church that we hear the preaching of the Word of God. Ephesians Ch.4 tells us that God has placed pastors and teachers in the church “to prepare His people of works of service, so that the body of Christ might be build up and strengthened.” :)

One problem with that - I can't take the bible seriously
- discipler0
jevad, why is it that you can't take the Bible seriously?
- grafholic0
...but you're giving the church a second chance??

I am confused
This is a dark time in my life and I am looking for the light
I think the bible is a bunch of crap and religious zealots make me want to puke...why then all of a sudden do I feel the need to go to church?
- discipler0
well, i'm not sure why you believe the Bible is "crap". I've found compelling reasons to believe otherwise. Perhaps people have misrepresented it to you.
Your desire to attend church could be God working in your life. He might just be drawing you unto himself. He did the same thing to me many years ago.

that scares me

scared me too. still scares me. because I don't know what the next adventure is that He's going to call me on. I don't know what person He's going to ask me to help, or put my arm around, or tell about the love of Jesus, etc.... It's one big wild ride, man. I wouldn't trade it for anything though. :)

you guys ever wonder why there is such a high correlation between countries (like in south america) where faith in christianity is strong and low divorce/abortion rates.
- JazX0
that's absolutely true yarsrevenge. It's interesting, has something to do with colonization if you ask me.
- grafholic0
jevad,
i recommend you joining a group that support each other in non-religious manner.
- yarsrevenge0
eh Jazx... I know what colonization means... but can you explain that further?
