then get the militias who are heading out to protect our borders with crazy militia justice. sick them on the protesters so they can get back to being exponentially outraged about something else that doesn't concern them.
welcome back to the middle ages.

about time. I feel for her family, but the media circus has made this unbearable. I was in the gym this morning and had to hear some jackass on cnn express that "Terry Shiavo... has passed away this morning..." like he really fuckin cared... and fuck all the religious right politicians too who think that this was a case where saving a life was so important yet in so many other cases it's all about taking lives, by the thousands...
- otapnam0
lets not get into a battle about religion eh point?
they shouldve just put her to sleep when they pulled the tube out, why let her starve to death, it just made her parents feel helpless (which they were) and forced to watch their daughter die. Teri's husband didnt even let them be by her side when she passed away. some bullshit there...

rip.

even in death can they not find peace. I feel for the family, but relieved that her suffering has ended.

this is going to be on TV forever just watch.

letting her starve to death is worse than murder in my opinion...
... horrible agonizing pain - what ever happened to cruel and unusual being outlawed?
And for those of you who believe she was 'brain dead' and couldn't feel anything... fuck you - no one knows what's really going on inside her body or her brain. A bunch of 'instrument readings' saying that the woman is brain dead is science/doctors being arrogant again and thinking they know what's going on.
... it's all speculation based on data - but we DO know what pain feels like.

I'm not getting about religion. I simply made a statement. That's just my opinion and I have various others about a lot of other subjects.

probably movie of the week.
- Point50
and I do agree that letting somone starve to death is just cruel.

Cruel and unusual punishment is only when talking about punishment of criminals. While I agree with you, you can't euthanize people in the USA, remember Kevorkian?

they do tests with needles and other devices to see if a person can actually feel pain. I cut a nerve in my hand and they did the same tests to me to see if I could feel it.
It's over now.

I agree with Otapnam. They should've done something to make it quick & painless. Food deprivation is just so inhuman.

not starting anything. but we don't know anything because she couldn't speak, move or communicate otherwise. thus. brain dead.

I wonder what would have happened if she got that micro chip installed that the other guy got.......... you know the guy that could think the tv on and change channels etc. did the family not have enough money or a charity behind them to get this stuff tried out on her.
- todelete__20
the million the husband got in a lawsuit for misdiagnosis was long gone from hospital bills and court costs.
only recently did a person offer i believe the husband 1 million to keep the tube in.
which would have been gone again in no time.

poor woman to have to go through all that.
but it seems so hypocritical of bush to fly in from vacation to save one persons life when his mandate on the war on terrorism is killing thousands + innocent people.
- tank0
agreeing with fawn here

some quick math if you think about it.
how much would it cost to keep her alive for one day.
doctors costs, medicine, food, hospital stay, nurse costs, time. the whole nine yards.
$1000? which is probably REALLY low because i forgot about all the equipment.
ok. $1000 a day, 365 days a year, for 15 years not including extra days for leap years.
$5,475,000
that does not include the thousands if not hundreds of thousands for court costs and legal fees.
- abizzyman0
kOna... why are you breaking down her life to money?
.. that's so republican. ;)
