version3 you sir, are on crack if you think that truly makes a difference. The coming soon page alone is 10x more apealing than that rabbitwerks site. mr.dinky is a very talented dude and really bright and it shows when you talk with him in person, which in business is the most important thing, design or any other.

Wicked Spix; how did you do that? Haha, you brought this thread up by nine in a matter of seconds!

SHOULD Designers "Know How To Draw"; probably, yes.
"Knowing How To Draw", however, as a concept, does not truly communicate what's important about the art of using one's hands to create something--in this case, visual representations of, whatever.
It's important to understand line quality, and being able to translate what your eyes see via pencil to paper is one of the best known ways to do this (understand line quality).
Paula can help us to understand this:

Both of you need to relax. NT isn't the place to chicken fight.

mr dink-
i work when i want travel when i want and control a project from start to finish i can work in my underwear and call my dad and talk to him all day if i want
why in the world would i chhose to return to a design house [thats right return i worked in one already from 18-22, 20-22 being from home as a subcontractor]
that is a step back in my carreer, what would i look forward to?
"wow, now i get to go hear what someone WHO ISN"T going to do the work tell me how to do it so he can have the credit"
thats bunk, getout of your moms house and into the real world.
as far as bringing up sites, how is that childish, this is a design forum and a discussion about design.
to hear you say i have no talent is like having the check at albertsons say thati have no talent
neither of you are in a position to tell me anything

Solid: If your question is:
"Why does 'drawing' have to be confined to analog media?"
The answer is easy; because it's with in the context of this thread.
It's great that you ask that question, however, it might constitute a discussion of it's own.
If you are insinuating that I made the following statement; your mistaken.
"Designers SHOULD know how to draw."
- 2cents0
i think you should be able to... but i know plenty of solid designers who can only draw chicken scratch.
- Spix0
we are in a great possition to tell you everything.

"magic fingers..huh? give me a woman."

nice-one

Dan, it seems to me that the OP's question was "Can all good designers draw well?". The respondents have subsequently implied/defined 'drawing' to mean analog pencil-and-paper.
I'm just wondering why the *medium* is so important in this discussion about drawing and design.

No but practice helps
It's good to be able to draw what you mean especially if it helps describe the wikid design you've got in your hed
- version30
and for the record i never used your font how many times do you need told
i only repaired it after others were speaking of it as was already discussed in email and a thread

Oh yea; as a practicing designer, I do not sketch or draw much. I don't get angry at myself for not doing so because I don't learn how out of pure laziness.
Anyone can learn to draw; not not just anyone can learn to love type.

i been praticing on this old toshiba laptop...hehe...remember those ones? hee..
- mr_snuggles0
version3 are you really from the future? I'm starting to believe it...
