good thread.
in our lives there are two ways to live. you either live in a small story or a big story.
the small story involves living day to day, scraping by, trying to satisfy ourselves with cars, books, money, whatever. which is where i've spent most of my life.
then there's the big story that we're meant to be living in. so many people miss out on that. but its a great story, one of hope of love of peace, of community. in this story, that void that you feel is filled. life becomes something so much bigger and more mysterious that our little selves, our little stories.
its in this knowledge that i find comfort and hope. its not about doing this or that. because if you're not content in your current situation, you'll never be content in any situation.

that's an interesting thought jakey
my dad told me the same thing
i was miserable where i was living and said i felt like a plant that got too big for the pot
he said i should be able to find happiness where i was .. the location wasn't important.
but he was sooooo wrong. i have been much happier since i moved away.
i think satisfaction in life lies in between your inner situation and your external situation.

i don't think it means you have to be happy in every situation. because i don't think that's even possible.
life's sort of about realizing there are real things outside of yourself.
