The things you're looking for Jevad are what we're all missing I feel.
Humankend's unatural progression.. moving too fast, too far, too soon.
There's no hunting, except on each other, and no tribes or family units anymore. All there is is the chasing of the $'s.
I think the only way to fill that void (for me) would be to duck out completly.
I'd rather worry about how I'm going to kill that fat Ox than worry about my rent and the bills.
Hmmm. I wonder if any of this made any sense.

I think, deep down, y'all are afraid of death.
- moth0
Certainly Kuz.
Personally though - I'm more afraid of life.
Sometimes...

ha. nice moth :)
I agree 100% with what u said. Once the challenge of survival is conquered, people occupy their mind with such bourgeois existentialist drivel ;)
It's the same existential angst consumerism feeds off.
I think the whole idea of "live a full life!" was created by ad execs.
I say, embrace nothingness and be free!

now I am doubley aroused!
How was the party then?
Sorry I never made it over.. had spent all of saturday route marching across north london looking at flats to buy.
I wasn't in the most sociable mood by the end of the day...

(Mar 14 05, 05:14)Sounds good.
Were there strange people in your bed and DJ's still playing at 10am?
- paraselene0
we stopped around nine. anyone still standing at ten was rewarded with eggs benedict. and those people in my bed were some of the strangest i've ever seen.

sounds like you had a good one para!
On jevad's topic, my report cards changed from getting the "Able To Dress Oneself" box proudly ticked at age 5, to the deputy head of my school telling my parents at 13 that i was the biggest liar he'd ever met, and telling me that i'd never amount to anything (that was cos i got suspended for a week for spiking the coke with bourbon at a religious end-of-term party). Funnily enough that deputy head got sacked a year later for having an affair with one of the religious teachers who was supposedly "married to god", whilst his wife was in hospital with cancer. I guess he must have been going through a difficult period.
Also 2 years ago i had a bit of a jevad moment and thought "who can i remember first encouraging my creative side as a kid?" and i remembered this teacher i had when i was 8 - she'd held up something i'd worked on for ages and said it was wonderful and told the whole class i was the "official class artist" *bless!* - things like that make such a difference when you're a kid. i think that was one of the first times i started to think of myself as "a creative"!
anyway i found her address online and wrote her a letter saying thanks and telling her what i'm up to. got an email back saying she'd just retired and was feeling all depressed until my letter arrived, it was nice to let her know that she made a difference in my life.

cool story vespa.
it strikes me how different the comments on report cards in the UK vs. US. It seems that my report card commentswere always fairly standard, such as, "Not working up to potential" and things like that. But damn, UK comments are pretty specific. "Biggest Liar" "Smells Bad" "Horrible Dresser"...
=P

haha gruntt that was in australia actually, and it was before computerised reports after which they all became standard sentences year after year
- gruntt0
i bet teachers really miss the days before computerized reports, back when they could really let the kids have it.
i wish i had some of my old report cards. i can't imagine my mother saved them, not exactly "proud moments"

so many good stories... i am truely touched.
not too long ago, i realized i was becoming a person i didn't want to be. somehow this fast life sucked me in. money, power, politics... we get caught up in all those things and forget what's really importnat in life.
