So when I was back home at xmas I found a little case containing photos, letters, song lyrics, old postcards, name tags from old jobs, and letters from ex-girlfriends 12 years ago..
I didn't really have the chance to look through it all when i was there - so my parents sent it on, and it arrived today.
I've just spent about 3 hours re-living the years 1991 - 1994, and I feel numb from all the memories.
Friends, places..people I have forgotten. Old school report cards - the best quote: "Nic is rarely seen in class. Too Bad." - from my PE teacher. Sorry chief, volleyball wasn't my bag - I was having more fun skateboarding and smoking pot downtown, but thanks for the thought. My grades for everything else were pretty poor (junior year), and I barely scraped by getting my IB.
But the funny thing about comments like "Nic must commit himself to his studies or he will get nowhere in life" and "It is a shame that Nic finds grades like this humorous. When he's penniless and homeless later on in life he will only have himself to blame.", are that I have a better house, better car, and am making more money than any of the ass clowns that taught me ever did or will.
The most painful thing in there was a letter I wrote to the local paper after the tragedy of New Years Eve 1993: http://www.eyescoffee.com/vr/
It made me realise how precious life is, and wonder what Jody would be doing now if he had been 30 minutes late to the bar that night.
Live my friends - get as much out of each and every day that you can. Live it like it's your last, and regret nothing.

Our being is subject to all the chances of life. There are so many things we are capable of, that we could be or do. The possibilities are so great that we never, any of us, are more than one-fourth fulfilled.

Right there with you jevad. I often get fully obsessed with the fact that we can't live forever, and that life is to be made the most of.

I keep thinking that I have already lived my glory days.... I have to get out of that mentality and realize that right now today is my glory day and in 20 yrs if I dont live it like that I am going to regret every second of it....
nic....Im there with you....

It's like...wow maybe this is the start of a mid-life total fuckin breakdown or whatever...but I still have a lot more to do. I've done a lot and I am grateful for everything life and my parents have afforded me...but I haven't been to south america yet...I haven't hiked the great wall of china in full...I haven't been to the north/south poles...
I want to do all these thigns and more.
I have this feeling like I am so empty inside...like something is missing. It's a feeling that has been growing over the past few weeks and is starting to consume and overwhelm me.
It's like I have been searching foever to fiind that missing piece.
but I don't know what it is or why it is missing from me...
And while I am at it I'd like to thank everybody on here that I interact with on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Since I signed up here almost 3 years ago I can't even begin to explain how much I have learnt on here from you people.
You continue to amuse and inspire me on a daily basis, and for that I thank you. Regardless of how I may sometimes act and react on here...I have the utmost of respect and admiration for you all.
Thankyou

Never have product superiority over your teachers. They helped to create you, their antagonistic comments were not necessarily accidental.
Thank them for their selfless sacrifice.

you obviously didn't have my teachers
the only ones worth a shit were my history ones

I had some of the most inspiring teachers ever.
I wish I had the courage to go back to speak to all of them.

all you need now is to plant a tree, write a book and make a kid.. some teacher said that to me once.. and somehow it has some sense on it

I sometimes think of just packing a bag, go to the airport and fly out somewhere and live a quite life away from everything for a couple years
but i feel i already have to many obligations to do it now.. wtf!
