I noticed that everyone has strange things that scared them when they were little. Sometimes obvious, sometimes odd minutiae.
What scared you?

I was scared of:
-Album cover of "The Stranger" by Billy Joel
-This Sesame Street segment involving these guys in separate beds with long beards. One wanted the window open and the other wanted it closed. Freaked me out.
-There was a station ID for a movie channel that scared me. This is circa 1979 in Florida, so I can't remember which.

So a female friend of mine is being stalked by this guy. He is actually both of our ex-boss. I haven't worked there for over a year, and she left sometime around January. In the past month he has been sending constant text messages and calling her. Creepy and cryptic messages. I just found out about all this as I haven't spoken to her in a few weeks.
Anyone have advice on how to deal with this? I am personally trying to convince her to call someone, cops or an attorney, to get this on record. But I am looking for other thoughts. Thanks folks.

I'm finally calming down after being completely enraged from this conversation I overheard nearby. I couldn't do anything since it involved several high-ups and company owners. The gist is that the IT guy here is Indian and a Hindu. He just spent the past week moving his family into a new home. One of these other people went to drop something off to him when he wasn't home. On their door, they had placed a golden hindu swastika, an ancient symbol within many faiths, often representing a home blessing of sorts. He was confused, and thought it was a Nazi swastika. So he's now telling this story, and every in the room is horrified, and saying that they should tell him to take it down, oh my god what will neighbors think, he's not going to make many friends in the neighborhood, and so on. Out of fear and ignorance, they were actually going to tell a man to remove an ancient symbol of his faith from his OWN F*ING HOME! And this was a room full of Jews!! Historically persecuted much?! I couldn't believe my ears. I was so angry I was shaking and had to go away into the bathroom.

Ok...I am a calm tree. My branches blow gently in the wind.

I just walked into the men's room to go pee, and some dork is in a stall, sitting on the can, talking on his cell phone. I hate that. Kind of pissed me off(no pun intended).So I decided whomever was on the other line, deserved to know where this guy was. I got into the stall next to his, and made the loudest pee noises I possibly could. I think I heard a very muffled "What's that sound?" come from his earpiece. He replied, "Uh, I don't know. I think it's outside." That made me pee harder from laughing, accented by quick bursts. "Schlorp! Schlorp! Schlorp!"

Seriously pissed, need advice Jan 11, 06, 7:24 a.m.

Ok, I'm either looking for advice, or just some solidarity here.

The company owner's manish daughter is getting married. She's hounding me to make some horrible "cartoon" about her and her fiance meeting, to be shown at the wedding. I am NOT interested.

I made it clear to her I would be happy to hear her idea, and give her my freelance rate card. She went whining to daddy because she doesn't want to pay. Now they're both twisting my arm, no matter what I say: I don't do this type of work, no time, 80 hour job at least, and so on.

Any stories? Any advice. Fuck sake, help.
