php web forms with fasthosts Dec 10, 08, 3:25 a.m.

Ive been having a huge problem with fasthosts. theyre as useful as a sack of shit and wont even help.

ive tried various php scripts for web forms (including the one fasthosts provided on their knowledge base) and have had no luck getting the email to reach its mailbox.

has anybody used php web form scripts with fasthosts? can anybody point me in the direction of a script that will work?

I dont know any php so im just after a script that i wont need to know the techy details of it.

flash rollover buttons not working in ie Mar 6, 08, 3:57 a.m.

hey guys hope u can help..

ive 3 flash buttons all coded in as3 where the rollover effect seems to work great in firefox, safari etc...

but in both ie7 and ie6 they dont do anything when you hover the mouse over them..

any ideas why?

does anyone know how to create the text effect seen on this tha ltd. ?

kinda like a matrix effect, not too keen on tweening so if anyone knows actionscript 3 and knows how to do it itd be much appreicated.

for awhile now ive been working for this company where the boss insiste i knock up a 'quick visual' as part of a tender for any web design brief we've been invited to do..

the quick visual is there to show potential clients what we're capable of doing in just 2-3hours of designing and thus helping them think how much better their website would be if the brief is awarded to us.. so my boss says..

i cant but help think its actually doing more damage than good, my feeling is that no matter how much you try to emphasise that its just a 'a quick visual we've knocked up' blah blah clients will be more inclined to believe that its exactly how it will look if they award the brief to us...

out of 4-5 visuals ive done for tenders we've only been awarded 1... plenty of work comes in but when i get asked to do a quick visual i can help but think its a waste of time

do any of you web designers do this? just wanna see if theres anyone out there that think what i do is a bad idea or good etc..

how do u guys normally do tenders?
