ah yes... that time again.

so I havent given my freelance clients the files.. simply because he hasn't paid.

He says he can't pay until his business takes off or get ssome funding.

Do you guys ever get any clients that think they are allowed to pay, AFTER they start making money or get money later?

I wasn't aware that we, as designers/developers, were suipposed to be giving out loans.

I must've missed the memo.

So, I know this topic has been started before, but wanted some updated, fresh, super cool replies.

Anywho...

I am debating on going back to more independency sooon, and wanted to know if there are any more good tips I haven't thought of or experienced to break back out to find clients. Not just design but development too. I am a developer currently working with flex/jsp, but long for the days of design.

I used to work with Tommyo, and we had done some great things, before, but I need to break into it again. (i sound repetitive, i know)

any suggestions, would be great.

so, I basically got cussed out at work a few days ago because of a component of our content manager not working. I understood the frustratiion a person may have if something is not working at the moment they want it to, but does that warrant being yelled at that "you are making them pass a fucking gaul stone", etc. Its been a headache with a few other issues such as that, even other employees not just with myself, but other people emailing some vulgar stuff trying to call me or someone else out.
"who broke it, was it you AntBoy?"..

wtf? and its supposed to be corporate.

Since then other superiors have apologized for others actions, saying sorry that they did it but get your skin a bit thicker, basically meaning just take it up the ass and keep working full speed.

I have been working on comps for a client (startup) for about 2 months now, I have made probably 3 different versions and 10 different variations of one version.

and it is hideous.
I am under NDA so I can't show, however, when is it time to hang up your hat on a project and say, sorry I can't do this anymore because I don't believe this will do you any good? Even if this client was sent to you from a bigger client whom is also a very respected friend?

Its painful to look at and I don't feel as if I am designing anymore, just manufacturing. The client even stood over my shoulder for 3 hours moving around elements and telling me what colors to you.

However he says, you're the designer!

Anywho... vent with me its Friday!! I think I will go get drunk after this!!!
