Im currently trying to scope out a project I want to get started, bare bones of it is that its a portfolio system with resume building. I know what your thinking, Krop right? well I'm not going to lie, its got similar functionality.

I wondered, I'm an AS3 Developer by profession and have been umming and arring about weather to brief the project in to a ror dev or a php dev.

Does anyone know of any reason to sway with one over the other. I prefer ror becuase of its mvc basis but of with regards to the project itself I don't want someone to have to re-invent the wheel to get a cms system in place which is where maybe php comes in to its strength.

With the rise of ffffound, dropular, imgfave, vi.sualize.us etc... Am I the only one who is contemplating just creating there own self hosted image bookmarking site? I'm aware of http://www.vnovember.com/ but has anyone else had the same feeling that putting all there hard earned image finds on to someone else's platform in the long term is a bit stupid.

Considering that content is king do you reckon it would be worth while building a personal image bookmarking site or just simply be a user on these sites ( or not in the ffffound instance )

I'm aware that the real value of these sites is the sharing / caring aspect but I for instance use my dropular account as more of a place just to put a load of inspiring stuff for myself, unfortunately the sharing / caring is extra.

Looking at selling up an old g5 tower to replace it with a mac mini. Current setup is a nas, a couple external hardrive's hooked up to a g5 which in turn is hooked up to the tv. Does anyone have a mac mini and recommends it? or do you reckon a hacked apple tv is the best route?

Sorry for the vague title, I'm currently trying to hunt down a good @ symbol within a typeface. Seems to be quite a afterthought for many and the use for it really focus's on the @ symbol...

Thought i'd throw a question out here, Currently thinking about undergoing a project to create a news site of sorts.

I know what your thinking Flash?! Before you ask, The reasoning is primarily because that's what I do for a living plus I really want a good project to get my teeth in to, to expand my flash/flex knowledge specifically the FP 10's Text Engine

Anyway, was wondering weather anyone has had any experience pulling wordpress out to flash or alternatively expression engine ( can't find anything on EE as a CMS for flash) I'm aware of these for wordpress though.

Im desperately trying to hunt down a alternative to a drobo, I've read way to many reviews that say these are unreliable. All I'm really looking for is up to 8tb's of space to act as a media library / backup, Im not too fussed about it being raid.

Currently thinking of sorting out a new look for my website, thing is I have several different sections, for instance one section will be a labs section which of course is very different from a showcase/portfolio section. For me it would make the most sense to have labs.example.co.uk rather than example.co.uk/labs/

Has anyone had experience on how google handle's sub domains from one address?
