Re: https://www.qbn.com/reply/415327…
https://www.qbn.com/reply/415325…garbage,
On the contrary I think it's great for the point I was trying to make.
In order to start from a clear common base, let's agree that this is funny:
We're not qualifying the type of funny or adding any moral value to it (yet).
When looking at the gif my immediate reaction would be a chuckle, regardless of how the image was created. This reaction is immediate, unconscious, even.We could argue that included in the reading of the image is the fact that it looks AI, but even if we were later to find out it wasn't AI the initial reaction would remain the same. And it's this holding back of a reaction that I was addressing in the first part of my post. It's what seems to me to be an illogical fear of reading an image or any other type of input.
The video is a great precursor to the gif above, and I accept the argument that it's funnier or better. It may even be the direct influence to the gif. But that still doesn't change my reaction to the gif. The chuckle happened. After that original reaction there are many discussions to be had, like how AI does condition us, as everything else does. But again, I was pointing to a single moment of interaction between myself and the image in front of me.
