Seems like there were a few people interested so let's see how it goes.
A powerful piece of software with a mega steep learning curve.
I have been putting in some effort to get into it in the last few months. Painfully frustrating at times but every now and then something clicks.I couldn't stand the learning/course tutorials, maybe good for some but I have to learn with practical examples, I had to find a way to solve a job and that's where it all started. So I've been creating practical scenes for myself and then trying to figure it out with online help and tuts and what not. Always 100 ways to do one thing.
Im trying to get into fluids and below are two great and simple tuts Ive found gave a good base to start from. So that is my starting contribution not the thread!
I will post some of the explorations when get a chance to render.

A buddy of mine works with Houdini, I’ve seen him do some amazing stuff.

this was my first time having to use on a project, baptism by fire. This is just a reverse breakdown. Doesnt show the many, many hours trying to figure simple things out. Brief was to have a room that was reversed vacuum packed. I couldn't find anyone that wanted to take it on and needed to figure out a way in Houdini as C4D cant handle that kind of sim. Tho 23 might get better detail now if yo have enough vram
- You never know until you try but I think C4D's new cloth system can handle that.CyBrainX

Looks like he's petered out half way through, but I was paying attention to this guy a while back, who'd set himself up to do 100 Houdini projects, one a day.
He doesn't go into detail much, but there are some nice examples...
- I thin they took him about 30 mins to a couple of hours to do, then he'd leave them render overnightNairn
- nice, good way to learn. shame he prob exhausted hahawhere_am_i
- i find tho with houdini repetition is the key, so many settings n variables, if you do something once/twice you don't remember itwhere_am_i
