Until Friday I thought Peter Gabriel's Games Without Frontiers began with "she's so popular".

back in 1985 when I was 15, going through puberty and there wasn't an internet to look things up, I absolutely loved the Fine Young Cannibals song, Johnny Come Home.
Which had the line "Water's run, in my life, and I'm a sketron every night"
I had no idea what a sketron was but I assumed it was something that really cool people going through a bit of rough patch became. Kind of like being moody and pouty in way that makes all the ladies want you.
So I'd often say to people, when trying to cultivate the mystique of a brooding pouting man of great depth, with powerful emotions swirling beneath the steely exterior, "I'm a sketron".
It was many years later that I learned the line is "What is wrong, in my life, that I must get drunk every night".

Last night I dreamt of San Pedro
Just like I'd never gone, I knew the song
A young girl with eyes like potatoes
It all seems like yesterday, not far away... etc

When I was a kid I thought Chicago's "If she would have been faithful" was actually "If she would have been paid for" This makes that song completely different, dark ... and really weird to a young kid growing up in the middle of nowhere.
