Who is watching? Loving it so far.

I think it's The Outsider. Heard good things, will watch the first two today. Thanks for the friendly reminder.

Can you stream it?

Watched the first episode the other night and loved it. I read the book a few years ago, so I know what's coming, but they've done a fantastic job so far. The music and tone really put their hooks in you.

Liking it so far, the main cop actor is good. There's loads of good actors in it actually.

Is this going to have a complete story arc for the first season? I am tired of starting a new series only to have it cancelled before the story is told.

Was waiting after seeing the trailer last year, and boy it was worth it... After the first ten mins, was like "WTF!"

Can't recall the last time HBO dropped a 1-2 episode premiere. But glad they did. Super into it so far.

My wife won't let us watch this due to the dead kid thing; perhaps a solo effort?!
: )
- Every show seems to have a dead kid plot OR dead kid episode(s) (looking at you BLACK MIRROR)... Mothers can't handle it.*sigh*ideaist
- haha ideaist, I have the same dilemma! I started watching the trailer to make sure it was ok, then nope, 2 seconds in, dead kid.
fuck._niko - Yep, no dead or kidnapped kids for my wife either.HijoDMaite
- Women; can't live with them and can't be alive without them.
Lolz.ideaist - My wife got super sensitive to violence after having kids.. I'm soloing on this one as well.mathinc
- Every shows have: vomiting, dead animals, boobs. At least 1 time per season.Bennn
- it wasn't just a dead kid... But it was a FUCKED UP dead kid, you do not see that level of violence on kids TV, that was graphic man...necromation
- Fucking Stephen King loves torturing and killing kids. Don't watch Dr. Sleep, shows 5 minutes of murdering a kid. I hope they dont make a movie of The InstituteBeeswax

Fantastic show so far. I could watch Ben M. read a phone book. That guy is the best actor when it comes to limited action, drama and dread characters.
- mg331
Also, if you like the main cop actor, played by Ben Mendelsohn, and you never watched Bloodline, get on that. Was a great show, great acting all the way around, but Mendelsohn was the standout for sure.
- Agreewhatthefunk
- That's right, I forgot he was on Bloodline, he played the brother, right?elahon
- Yep, he was Danny, the troubled, scheming brother.mg33
- oh fuck. Didn't know Mendelsohn was in it! SOLD. He made Bloodline. Thanks for the tip.MrAbominable

Also happy to see some other common actors with Bill Camp from 'The Night Of' and Marc Menchaca from 'Ozark' - has a similar vibe. Also great to see Bateman directing the first two episodes as he directed a handful of Ozark episodes too.

Anyone read the book? The book was fantastic!

I'm listening to the book on Audible, while keeping up with the series on HBO (I'm a good little consumer). Fucking hooked! Shit is about to get crazy. Anyone else still watching?
- PonyBoy2
I just hope this isn't one of those King stories that builds you up w/all this emotion / hurt / real life shit up front just to unveil some stupid supernatural monster crap. Mind you... I'm fine when he gets all super natural as long as the story holds up (eg—The Green Mile). So many of King's stories fizzle-out toward the end... I'm hoping as it's HBO broadcasting it that it holds up but I must remind myself how GOT finished and probably pocket my hopes and dreams for another day.
- Sorry but that’s exactly what it is. It’s Stephen king after all ;)monospaced

- Your thoughts on this are identical to mine I might as well have written this list myself.monospaced
- So far HBO has given the characters more depth and emotion than King is even capable of. Here’s to hoping friend.monospaced
- if you cant see the monster bit coming then you need to stop right now! i for one an excited by it.necromation
- Of course I can see it coming... :/ someone
/ something that can change form and does lots of killing... especially to the story...
*sigh... anything else on?PonyBoy - Servant? Alas, Shyamalan has a similar problem writing a premise and shitting the bed at the reveal, so I can't promise anyting.monospaced

Enjoyed it (especially the first 3 to 4 episodes)

- I loved it until the last ep. wasn’t pissed, just disappointed. Fun journey thoughhardhat
- ^ Yeah same ... shame because those first couple of episodes are so damn good.Ramanisky2
- Yeah a rubbish show with a predictable ending. Stuck with it. But waste of time.inteliboy
- Yeah, I bailed about five episodes in. Shame, such a great cast.webazoot
- Yep, totally agree with this. Def watchable right now since I've watched everything else tho.fyoucher1
- I enjoyed it all the way to the end. I think show works better binged. The pacing is a bit slow.DRIFTMONKEY
- e-wo4
Ben Mendelsohn is good enough to carry the entire show on his performance.
I do wish we'd all stop pretending that Stephen King writes anything more than interesting premises. We gotta look elsewhere for anything resembling a satisfying arc.

Wow we just binge watched this. It’s gripping and intense. Hard to watch as a parent. I recommend it.
