- One detail I am crazy proud of in the last two (part of an infinite series) is the overspray outwith the border.microkorg
- It's a random overspray on every output.microkorg
- Bottom consists of:
- Random characters, between 1 and 3, randomly placed on canvas
- sometimes one will bleed outwith the bordermicrokorg - - rear characters sometimes black outline only
- random colour background
- random vector shape (chosen from bank), random pos & rotationmicrokorg - - random spray effects in background
- random border width
- random overspray
- random signature (chosen from 5) at random positionmicrokorg - All positioning, rotation, scaling of elements are random but are within controlled parameters to keep compositions under control.microkorg
- This is cool. How's it working?mg33

further to my post yesterday.. i know im not pushing any boats out content wise just recycling existing nintendo assets.. its more proof of concept for the app..
will likely paint something along this line over the weekend..
its never going to be an released app, more just a tool to try and find a new take on mural design.. doing things in situ ..
- can see a tool like this being great for mural art, whether its using nintendo assets sor random vector shapes like Praystation used.microkorg

I'm still working away on my projects, and, with a goal of making prints soon, spent some time researching AI image upscaling this weekend since the output size of my PNG images is 2,000px on the long edge.
Got curious about how to simply make bigger images, and working with Claude, devised a feature that keeps the on-screen canvas constrained to 2,000px wide to keep things efficient and speedy, but now my Save PNG feature has the option for normal resolution (screen display), and a high resolution output mode that is rendered off screen at 300dpi to a max of 40 inches wide. I need to iron out some bugs, but pretty happy with how that random idea turned out. Kind of makes me want to upgrade my Synology NAS to have more memory since it's all running on a server on it. I'm ecstatic that I can run it there because this would all suck to host on my website; my assets folders are growing constantly as I scan stuff, make new sets of images to use in these tools, etc.
Here are some images that I made a few weeks ago, probably the one style that I've been the happiest about so far. Someone online said they looked like tangrams and LOL it kind of makes me want to have these made out of wood.

-- Love this! What pens? I have done any prints with mine in a few months. Some of the gen stuff I'm making will get done as pen plots at some point.mg33

New images I made last night. I've almost got this tool right where I need it. 3-4 months ago I thought I'd just do this for fun and that was it, share stuff here and on Instagram. Working on a plan to take this further and make and sell prints. Trying to speed up certain things like making wall art mockups, working on branding, etc.
Last big feature I added was the ability to save the canvas configurations to a database so that I can recall them from a dropdown. Since everything is randomized based on chosen parameters, assets used, color palettes, layer order, and other aspects, it's been impossible to ever recreate an image to re-save as SVG or PNG; if I saved an image I liked but didn't max out the print dimensions, there was no way to recreate it at all. So, now I can save those configurations, load them later, then save as images, or update them.
Got into a good jam last night listening to some electronic music by Max Cooper and of the dozens of images I saved, these were some favorites.
IG if we're not connected there:

New stuff. Got some test prints back from Artelo, all of which I was thrilled with but their Hahnemühle German Etching paper is amazing. Great texture that works on its own without my using texture in the images, but looks even better when I do. I've been learning so much about POD, just trying to get things up and running without mistakes. Etsy shop will be up hopefully by early September. Working on a Squarespace site for a non-Etsy presence; will integrate print sales into that if I have success on Etsy. I'm the king of realistic expectations so I'm under no delusions that this is gonna take off quickly or at all. It's just fun to truly be enjoying all the art I'm malikg, and if other people like it, that's fantastic.
As always, many thanks for your compliments and encouragement since I started posting this project months ago! A few of you are definitely responsible for why I started looking beyond just posting on IG and other social sites and trying to turn this into something bigger. :)

mg33, you don't fancy doing a series of generative works on a gen art platform like https://www.fxhash.xyz/ ?
I think you'd get more appreciation for the fact that the artworks are generated by code here than sales on etsy etc.
I think your works would go down well. Extremely helpful mods in their discord to help get your work up and running.
They have recently relaunched with artcoins and also open-form artworks where there can be multiple generations of the work - like evolution of the same piece.

It's been a while! Haven't posted about my project in several months, but I'm finally "officially" launching it this week, and it's called Shape & Place - Art for Modern Spaces.
I can't even begin to tell you how much work has gone into this. 19 months approximately, hundreds and hundreds of hours of work and learning. I'd be a liar and a jerk if I didn't say that without the encouragement of several of you as far back as 2024 when I first started sharing the images I was making, I don't think at all that I would have pursued taking this as far as I have. It wasn't even until May 2025 that I started working on what this is now and decided to pursue making prints.
It's all been so incredibly rewarding, just staying focused, designing the identity for it, setting up a squarespace site, learning about Etsy, reviewing test prints, making the images, refining my tools, and spending so much time outside of work and family time focused on this. Sure, I hope to find some success with this, but I have to be honest, not once have I thought I'd be disappointed if I didn't. The whole process from start to now has just been so much fun.
Everything is printed on Epson Somerset Velvet paper, with great texture that really brings out the textures in the images. Sizes ranging from 12x12 / 12x16 to 40x40 / 36x48 (inches)
Thanks so much for checking this out. I'd be grateful for some follows and such. Lots more to come.
