Hayabusa 2 drops a target marker on asteroid Ryugu from an altitude of about 10 meters on 30 May 2019. These images were taken from altitudes between 10 and 40 meters.
- Neat! I wonder how one 'drops' something from something tiny onto something not really huge, and gravity-heavy? I presume it was 'flicked' or something?.Nairn
- yeah, 'dropped' is probably not correct. it 'hit' the astroid with a target marker. amazing precision though to get within 10m of an astroid.sarahfailin
