What do you use on Windows 10 for antivirus / malware etc? Red Bitdefender seems best...Anyone use it / other?
Coming from a mac so don't really know much about this stuff.

thought it had it all built in now - isn't it windows defender? or is that something else.
If not AVG is free and good or was when I used it years ago on Windows.

I think it does have inbuilt but reviews suggest it's not great

I use Windows Defender with a run of Malwarebytes every week or so - never had any problems and I download a ton of shit from all corners of the internet.
Defender runs smoothly in the background and doesn't hit performance like some other scanners.
- nice one, maybe I'll just do that. What is this, 'a run of Malwarebytes'?craigatkinson
- The free version of MBAM dosent support realtime-security.. Therefore he have to run a scan manually.Bindegal

I use four programs instead of Windows own shitty-security:
The free version of Glasswire Firewall (actually it use Windows firewall, but helps alot to block programs to connect internet.)
MalwareBytes Premium and Avira Pro and then the free program BitDefender Anti-Ramsomware

- Run Anti Malwarebytes weekly
- Activate Windows Defender and dont cripple the settings
- Use Adblock Plus or uBlock Origin, make sure to enable for private mode too
- Use brain while surfing
- Buy your software instead of cracking
- If you're an avid office user and work with 'those' people, turn off macros in MS Office completelyNever had a virus problem in years and I do not run any 3rd party software. This is mostly adware that wants to sell you some sort of subscription, Norton, BitDefender etc.. In real word they are just as good as the built in service and won't stop bitching about it.
- lol @ "'those' people"OBBTKN
- Yeah, seconded for uBlock - you won't believe how much shit it strips out from various webpages.face_melter

I use Kaspersky total security on 3 machines (1 is win7). And it's ways better than using 4-6 software.
does not affect performance in the way like Norton, or avg and has a proper firewall. Just turn off the browser extensions and everything is fine.- avg never affected performance for me - or constantly interfered.fadein11
