    - Run Anti Malwarebytes weekly
    - Activate Windows Defender and dont cripple the settings
    - Use Adblock Plus or uBlock Origin, make sure to enable for private mode too
    - Use brain while surfing
    - Buy your software instead of cracking
    - If you're an avid office user and work with 'those' people, turn off macros in MS Office completely

    Never had a virus problem in years and I do not run any 3rd party software. This is mostly adware that wants to sell you some sort of subscription, Norton, BitDefender etc.. In real word they are just as good as the built in service and won't stop bitching about it.
