I love Pilot Sign Pens. They’re fluid feeling, so good for quick planning notes and such. Plus, the line is pretty variable. The thick-ish sides are handy for filling in masses for logos and icons. Meanwhile, there’s a reasonably fine tip there for some detail work. (It’s sort of like a better Sharpie.)
That said, I hate tossing them into the trash. And given how little ink they ship with, these don’t go far before they run dry.
At some point I realized there must be a way to refill the thing. Turns out, someone else had already thought the same:
I’ve followed his instructions (but using a syringe, instead) and it works very well. Thought some of you might benefit from this, too. :-)

thanks! I've used these and like them, but my true love are Pilot Fineliners.
- Same herekgvs72
- Pilot G-Tec-C4, for example.Miesfan
- Might be able to do the same with those. I think it’d all come down to whether you can access the chamber easily.karj
- (I was sort of surprised by how easy it was with the Sign Pen.)karj
- I categorize my Fineliners by shade (as they get used they get lighter). I put a piece of tape on 'em with a number from 1 to 10, 1 being the darkest.Gnash

Let's argue about pens!
For writing, I haven't found a dream pen yet, but my current favourite is the Bic GripRoller Fine.
• it's big and comfy
• super cheap (I still lose pens)
• minimal lookThe big thing I like about it is that I write with a soft touch. If you press hard on the paper, it's not good. But I like to barely skim the paper, it allows me to write MUCH faster, and this pen is perfect for it.
