Living near Hannover for 2 years now.
Haven't work for a Studio for 8 years now.
Did some gigs for galleries and record labels in between.
The rest of the time have been working doing a bit of everything and painting.I'm 40 years old.
Need a job.Can do various kinds of stuff though I got no working rhythm anymore.
Barely use Photoshop and Illustrator nowadays.
Draw things by hand mostly...typography too.Need a job, preferably freelance.
Would move to a nice town with bike messengers, graffiti, big buildings, good cultural offer, underground scene.
Left-wing.Graffiti workshops, illustration, some grtaphic design, etc...
Resources for jobs.
Maybe you are full of work and I can do anything...I need a new Mac, mine is dying slowly...
No perspectives, kind of desperate. It's all my fault...made some choices and I'm paying the price now.
Anyone?
Anything?Thanks!

You are not selling yourself rather good. I'm getting depressed by reading this. It sounds like you are kind of stuck in a more alternative way of working where studios are not looking for.
Graffiti, illustration and type by hand are very very niche. In stead of moving to another city, which just moves the problem
make an argument what you really want to do, compile a portfolio and than come here again and ask advice.

maybe you SHOULD begin to think about how to translate your work into a product. second what tank says.

Sounds like it's time to grow up and join the corporate world!

the desperation card won't get you anywhere, I've been there. i would recommend reorienting your portfolio and cv and any other social presence to point towards something you want. take the time to think about it and then get to it.

Don't.
Find new clients. Renew.
Learn UI/UX (I've taken some good tips from lynda.com).
Put up a simple but compelling portfolio web site.
Not a good moment for ad. agencies, nor big studios.I found out many local businesses are desperate for a community manager and good social media design... I mean, probably your city has it's own niche. Go out and find it!, and DON'T go out 'naked' for a job interview!

^ what is the average cost of an apartment rental there?
- Too much, relative to the piss-poor salaries. Pffft.Continuity
- 400 – 700 € for 1 – 2 br apartment. depends on area.pressplay
- a month that is..autoflavour
- considering the median rental price of a one-bedroom apartment in San Francisco is $3,120autoflavour
- Yep Berlin still cheap compared to other cities of that quality - always dreamed of moving there...fadein11

Big buildings, I was about to say: Frankfurt. But left-wing? No, wrong place. Berlin it is.
And all the other people said.
