You are not selling yourself rather good. I'm getting depressed by reading this. It sounds like you are kind of stuck in a more alternative way of working where studios are not looking for.
Graffiti, illustration and type by hand are very very niche.
In stead of moving to another city, which just moves the problem
make an argument what you really want to do, compile a portfolio and than come here again and ask advice.
