C4D - Character Rigging

Hey I ran into a problem and I'm sort of stuck.
I have a character I made, rigged on one file.
I have a 'skeleton'/rigged animation (with no character) on another file.

I want to combine both files. So my character moves, using the complex animation file. So I opened both files (fbx) and I get the following elements:

    -Character
    |_skin

    -Rig:Hip (no animation)

    and from the second file
    -Rig:Hip (with animation)

How do I replace the rig and have the character move?
I managed to copy the keyframes from one timeline to another, but this result on my character bouncing in x,y,z doing a t pose, is like the rigging is not affecting articulations.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

maybe this... attach the bones of the skinned character to the bones of the control rig

    • or you didn't copy all keyframes...actually I have no idea what I'm writing about :)uan

Thanks, this looks like it could work but I'm very new to character rig and fairly new to c4d also, so I'm a bit lost with that.

I found this video that shows how to "re-bind" the character, but
I can't get it to work just yet. I know I'm close but I can't see a solution at this point and is driving me mad haha
