it sucks you still need a computer for this :/
otherwise it's totally what we need.

I don't understand the product. It mirrors a mac screen to an ipad?
why not just use a wacom?

The first video above is using a wifi connection which i'm guessing will affect lag? Anyway, I plan on connecting my ipad pro via usb. I'm still waiting for the pencil to arrive in the next 4 fucken weeks.
I don't like the wacoms because of the bullshit parallax issues.

Cintiq 13HD Touch = $999.95
iPad Pro + pencil = $898.00ipad pro used this way loses pressure sensitivity.
But when you disconnect you still have an ipad that can be used on its own with pretty good stylus.

The cintiq companion is a bit heavy to lug around vs the ipad pro. One being around 4.5lbs and the other at 1.5lbs. Plus, there's a lot of cables that are a pain for the cintiq hd or companions.
With the ipad, I can use procreate on the go, and refine it later in photoshop at home.

Look.... I too thought of this as a waste of money. And for the general population it probably is. However, for those who want a mobile sketchbook and the ability to use it as a cintiq with a mac (or PC) this kinda makes up for the cost.
I give it a few months before we start seeing a few more scenarios where the iPad pro will fit into.

Saw the whole vid, looks legit.

It's legit, and feels better than the cintiq in my opinion. A bit too early though.

ok, you convinced me. i would personally test the lag before purchasing tho

Yeah, I really just want one of you guys to buy it and tell me how it is before I buy it.

I won't get the pencil for another 4 weeks, but I did test it out at the apple store. I've tried a lot of different stuff, and was impressed with the feel of the pencil. There is no lag using the ipad itself, not sure with astropad.
- If they are using the same tech as Duet (2nd screen app), the lag could be low, with a wired connection at least. But you'll need a decent gfx card to power it.face_melter

I'm testing out the pencil with astropad using photoshop. I'm using the wifi mode being right next to the computer. At 300 dpi there is some lag. Overall, it's not as powerful as a cintiq.

Seems like you should just use the cable
- pinkfloyd0
It seems to flow well with the cable and 16gb of ram. Not as well on 8gb.
