Think I'm closing in on this laptop to replace my current steed. Does anyone have any issues with it? Will be using it for AutoCAD / Sketchup/ Adobe shizzle. Holler now before i part with serious £££££...

it's a dell.
laptops should be macs.- seriously, look at a mbp, you can run it on windows if desired. and build quality is next level, like how you want a laptop to be built.uan
- Except the Mac will have a shitty video card, processor, no ports and they charge you extra for it.monospaced
- See, this is the sort of post I'd downvote.
Shame I only have one.detritus - Dells use Quadro's which are designed for CAD and 3D. Apple's Radeon setup doesn't even come close.face_melter
- Yeah. Fucking Apple fanboys are so awful right? Ugh. How dare they!?monospaced
- ok ok. how about the display resolution?
and I'm not against pcs (I have 2 of them), but if you want laptop, I know nothing better than macs.uan - and it's just my opinion here. instead of downvoting, write your own opinion, at least that would contribute to Beardys question. bitter nerds.uan
- not bitter at all, I can just see that for CAD a computer with a quadro GPU might actually be of use, rather than a hand bag computer.detritus
- More use to say nothing at all than simply "get a mac" .detritus
- Resolution is much higher than a MBP AND it's a real touchscreen!formed
- my fault not reading the specs. and not a clue how heavy CAD actually is. I'll downvote myself for not being helpful.uan

It gets 3 hrs battery life. Suck that Apple!

There seem to be a good handful of solid reviews of the machine out there, weighing many pros and cons, most comparing directly to a MacBook Pro, for obvious reasons. The thing has great specs but ultimately has a few small weak areas apparently, like a disappointing track pad and battery. Otherwise it seems like a beast.
- Won't need a track pad if you are working in 3D and cad. Better screen is a bonus. Tech support is a huge bonus.formed
- Right. Just pointing out the diff in attention to final detail fit and finish that Apple is known for in hardware pointed out by uan above.monospaced
- I haven't seen this one, but my ancient M90 is built as well as any Apple. Precisions are a different breed compared to their normal junk.formed

Get the Dell, it's a powerful and beautiful machine and Dell is very good at customer support, even better for business customers.

get what I bought because I'm the best at buying stuff (need constant validation that I made the right purchase).
