"And what do you think we are not told about the LHC?"

Four words: Hyperintelligent rainbow dolphin beings

Come on, Set — EUR15Bn, or whatever, spread across x countries over y decades is chump change for governments if they..

    a) think it will act as a bridgehead project to form political unification

    b) know that every previous such endeavour has resulted in ‘new science’ which has led fairly directly to evolutions in technology and bigger GDPs, industries and knowledge economies.

I'm hella ignorant about all this, but I do know enough to know that most of the scientists don't really know what'll come of it either, with competing theorisations and philosophies in the vying. All they know is that it's worth effort and is a necessary function of modern humanity, so headlong into it they go.

I mean — where the fuck's the profit in the Hubble telescope? It needn't be about money, but it is about the enriching.

    • I really am bored.detritus
    • how do you access the knowledge directly? what is withheld or filtered to the public?yurimon
    • Everything is ‘filtered’, Yuri, but that doesn't imply that anything is hidden.detritus
    • not saying its hidden, but for the most part every photo allowed to be published goes through the security apparatus, yurimon
    • my only concern with these type of findings if they publish what is true. example. the flat earth concept was official response to trying to suppres Christians.yurimon
    • someone kept the round earth concept even though established for 1000's of years to themselves. pushed an acceptable reality for purpose of controlyurimon
    • I suspect the entire Christian doctrine was more of a blamable control mechanism than the not-universally-acce... idea that the Earth is flat.detritus

I've said here and elsewhere before that I have a belief that meddling with 'unnatural types' of subatomic power types will act as something like a Ping! across whatever subspace structures might exist, alerting our technological awakening to whatever might be out there far further, and perhaps faster, than we at all appreciate.

It's not that I think "dark conspiracies absolutely do not exist and so therefore are not setting any agenda here there or anywhere" it's just that there are a fuckload of things out there which arise for purely natural, unconspired reasons.

    .

Unless, in relation to CERN, you take the view that the entire EU plan is a conspiracy, which it is of sorts...

    • I need to turn off the computer and go outside.detritus
    • what is your hunch on the natural things that happen with the meddling?yurimon
    • that unnatural focuses of energy, resulting in excesses of sub-atomic finaglery, will touch upon the lower matrices of connection in the universe...detritus
    • ..which may well be bound in dimensions that subvert relativistic restrictions in our realm, announcing our presence to entities able to scan that sort of thingdetritus
    • or something.

I dunno, I'm on my second joint.

It's a Make Work Scheme to keep a certain type of nerd out of the greater gene pool.

Thank you CERN for proving scientifically that magic does exist!

    Hang on.

The rainbow universe thing was an April Fools joke, we know that right guys?

Despite an April Fool joke released by CERN in relation to the creation of a rainbow universe during warm-up procedures at the Large Hadron Collider in March, which was covered by a variety of media outlets and resulted in heated debate, the truth is that such a thing is actually possible and the theory behind it, rainbow gravity theory, is one of the experiments slated for exploration.
