One of things that blows my mind about Trump is how despite everything, he’s the most insecure man on the planet. He’s been elected President twice, avoided consequences for all his misdeeds, has the Supreme Court and Congress in his hand, and despite all of that he’s still the smallest man on Earth.

I understand that he’s handed out plenty of vanity positions to loyalists like Kimberly Guilfoyle, but aren’t there still career civil servants in the White House? People whose job it is to say no, to push back, or at least to flag things that are unconstitutional? There are hundreds of people who work there, surely not all of them are political appointees.
Take today, for example, with those ridiculous plaques. He obviously didn’t design them, fabricate them, or physically hang them himself. He probably didn’t even write the text.
So at some point, it’s just an intern, a staffer, or a maintenance worker, someone who doesn’t agree, or doesn’t care, or is afraid of losing their job, who ends up making the plaques and hanging them because they were told to.
