Is the samsung galaxy note 4 any good? I'm leaning towards the note mainly because of the stylus for drawing and notes. Other recommendations? I'm a bit hessitent on the iphone 6 plus and the kind of updates or u2 bono type of stuff they do.

Samsung's one brand I am wholly and utterly turned off by.
At the very least flash it and stick on a low-calorie version of Android when you get it - Samsung's bloatware is renowned as awful.

Highly recommend the note 4. Samsung always had nice hardware but ruined the whole experience with their crappy software.
However, in the last year or so they've really upped their game. I've got a galaxy tab pro and it's buy the far the nicest tablet I've owned. I've had iPads and android tablets...
The design and UX of Samsung's new software is very good... the note 4 is a nice bit of kit and almost certainly the best phablet around at the moment.

I checked out the Nexus 6 last week. It looks pretty awesome. It's just really pricy for an Android phone.

As an aside - is it possible to buy stylus for phones generally?
I've been trying to get into Evernote on my Nexus, and it has a scribblepad that I think might be useful.
I suppose I could just Google, couldn't I?

Yep I have heard great things about Note4. I have a Note2 which I love despite the poor Samsung bloatware - great to hear they have sorted that issue. Was the only thing stopping me upgrading to Note4.
Wouldn't touch iPhone6 at mo - seem to be just playing catchup these days.

This note 4 is pretty ballin. The stylus is amazing, and puts all the iPad styluses to shame.
