Bump....
I lost all my copies of CS6, and I don't do enough freelance work anymore to justify a monthly licence for CC.Im thinking of making the switch to Affinity for any work I do at home. Anyone else been using this at all?

Tried it for a while before I didn't have my full CC subscription and needed vectors for C4D - reasonable enough to begin with, but you'll soon be cursing it because it lacks some basic tools that appear in Illustrator like Scissors/Cut.
This was a few months ago, so they may well have updated it since then - I only needed it (at the time) to do basic line work, so your mileage may vary...
- I don't think I've ever used the Scissors tool, oddly.i_monk
- I use the scissor tool... but could probably get along without it.Al_dizzle
- I use it a lot for making custom splines and extrusions. Finding it didn't have a cutting tool of any description was my own 'Thanks, Obama' moment.face_melter

Last time I tried it they hadn't yet implemented bleed, which was no good for the job I wanted to do.

What about the hot keys... how does it handle?
Is there enough similarity with illy there that the transition will feel natural?

Anyone else using this software?
It seems so legit that I just downgraded my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription to a single app: Photoshop only.
I was only keeping my full subscription going because I need to occasionally tweak a vector file in Illustrator, but Affinity Designer is going to fill that need just fine.

triangular grid! looks cool for iso stuff

This looks interesting:
"Designs that respond
In Affinity Designer you are not restricted to set absolute positions and sizes for objects − you can make these attributes relative to the artboard or container which they are in. This means you can design in a responsive way, with items moving and scaling automatically for different device sizes."

I thought about using Affinity Designer but I didn't see any "simplify path" like in Illustrator

Yeah to be clear, Affinity Design offers some amazing looking stuff that I haven't had (and probably never will have) time to look into.
It may not be a suitable replacement for people who fire up Illustrator every day.
But I never create anything in Illustrator. I just need to tweak the occasional logo to update a color or change the spacing for web, etc.. So for me it's looking pretty good.
I'm only on day 2 of the free trial for now, so time will tell.
Between this, Sketch, and Photoshop (which I really just use as a crutch because I know it so well) I feel pretty well covered.
