I saw the commercial yesterday and thought "why?". like you could tell by the commercial edit that it was just some cheesy mc cheeserson.

like here's the thing, and yeah there are market niches for this stuff etc, some people like it, but we have experienced next level tv this past year with true detective and that game of knights show. you have to wonder when he wraps up a day of filming fluff what kiefer thinks about as he lays his head down at night. but hey, another man's cup o tea i guess.
- Does Keifer know better? How do you think Michael Bay feels after filiming?omahadesigns

24 is and always has been a formulaic show and it was always a formula that just worked. it's always the president in danger. there's always a bomb or wmd-type threat. a lunatic terrorist and obligatory mole. and jack is the one-man army that has the experience to lead the covert op with or without the support or backing of ctu or other government faction. and all of this takes place in real-time and the threat is averted in... wait for it... 24 hours.
The first couple of seasons were pretty ground-breaking at the time and the writing kept you on your toes. it held up pretty well for most of the life of the show.
While i felt like this first episode was more of the same, i can say i've learned to not judge the show on a single episode. it's much more enjoyable binging through it commercial-free. but having said that, i think i was hoping for something a bit more and perhaps the formula needed a little more.

People who watch this stuff don't even know better shows exist. Like Adam Sandler movies, reality tv shows and Charlie Sheen, there is a great divide in entertainment. Somehow the crap makes the money.
- not true at all... I watched 24 and I appreciate all the good stuffmonospaced
- My statement was terribly written. But most people who watch mainstream media prob. don't know about the "good" stuff.omahadesigns
- you make a lot of assumptions and it only makes you seem more naive, which I didn't think was possiblemonospaced
- I have to disagree. This and Big Bang Theory are the only broadcast shows I watch.CyBrainX

The twist at the end of the first season killed it for me. Lazy writing. Refuse to waste my time on this show.

I watched all the seasons and it's an effortless show to watch for the most part. I think that's the nice thing about it. Shits gonna blow up, people are gonna be traitors, etc. You know what to expect and can kind've half watch it and still follow it.
Didn't see the new episode yet.
