Bc there aren't many "industry standards" (really other than maybe PS for mockups) Web Design things can get a little murky.
Wish AI had a facet for wireframes.

Been using sketch for wireframing lately

Sketch is excellent for hi fidelity wireframes.
I still use Balsamiq though UXPin seems to be the growing choice from other companies in our office.

I'm now using Axure at a new job. Started a full time interactive design/ux role August 25th (yay! no more freelancing!) and after briefly using Visio (client's team worked in it, so we had to as well) we're all running in Axure now. I've got a lot to learn about the more complex parts, but it's great so far.

illustrator? really?
if you're going to wire using adobe I think indesign + some illy objects would be a much better choice. Unless you're doing a very simple brochure site

Axure is fine, but it can be a pain in the ass. Sometimes you're better off coding the damn thing then faking complex functionality w/ Axure.

Ok, thx guys. Lot's of good points from both sides and I have made my choice, if I want my deliverables to be informative and beautiful: it will be Illustrator for me.
Since English is not my native language I will simply share you a link that tells better my thoughts.

The first four examples here are obviously illustrator made.

...and then comes this level of wireframing

I used Illustrator mainly Illustrator black/white key line flats and moved them into Flash if basic interactivity was needed to be shown at a half-decent level and then axure sort of sat in the middle. I also mostly ended up creating sequences of Photoshop images and making pdfs with lots of simple explanatory tooltips.
This was for Grand Theft Auto V and IV, Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire, Manhunt 2 etc and pretty much all other rockstar games from the last 9 years I worked on as Lead Graphic Designer.
My tip would be, learn Illustrator INSIDE OUT.
- Ahh, just realised, iGin, you chose well pal!!!! see_thru obviously doesn't have a clue about working in industry that demands immediate, obvious, step-thru...josimar
- ... simple storyboards that explain what will happen when the user interacts. Come see me see_thru, I'll help you out wee man.josimar
- ps, if you need more persuasion, I designed the whole HUD / UI for GTA V in Illus & Photoshop. Thread closed?josimar
- Ahaha, just noticed your reply dude :)
You are spot on! Axure and all are for e-commerce UX. If you design for other kind of product illustrator is unpaired.iGin - Btw, I also use Flash w/ imported assets from Illustrator to prototype UI animation and interaction. Again, this is not for classic corporate and ecommerceiGin

Subtraction's 2015 Design Tools Survey shows when it comes to wireframing Omnigraffle, Axure and Balsa are all out of the run :)
Illustrator comes 2nd behind ground breaking Sketch. So what did you all said again?
