I feel sorry for so many VFX artists who are gonna lose their jobs not only due to over saturation of the market by too many VFX artists but now AI tools like Google Veo3/ Flow and Runway taking their jobs.
Now a single, well experienced VFX artist/ supervisor could do the job of a dozen or more VFX artists.
- as long as the depth of field is f2.8 you're good... 5.6 to f8 things start getting dicey...jonny_quest_lives
- which is a good segway into how Ai is basically flattening taste/culture... if everything looks like a sizzle real because it's what the tool does bestjonny_quest_lives
- Bravehart for instance had 1500 extras.. expensive yes but as the DP was not going to film it at f2.8 because it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.jonny_quest_lives
- good book on the "flattening of culture": https://www.kylechay…jonny_quest_lives
- i see the same happening with visuals... the taste is flatteningjonny_quest_lives

Does anyone know of any article/book/read on what really happens once AI's taken over and we're all just gonna be sipping pina coladas on the one beach that's left out there? Do governments, orgs etc have any plan or idea for what everyone's supposed to be doing with their time? Besides reading the Butlerian Jihad, I've already finished that.

Pretty good scoreboard with almost true to life results (from using some of the models in the list myself)
- But overall Claude 4 really good for code and general usage toografician
- Livebench also good

- Great, more AI slop produced by random people with no design experience :))
0 sales, no market impact, but hey they made it in 2 hours with chatgpt :)))grafician - To the non-dicerning eye (97% of people, let's say), all this is "good enough", "totally adequate", and "fine". "Awesome" to some, I'm sure.jagara
- Sadly.jagara
- A lot of mediocre graphic designers have been making mediocre graphic design for years.jagara
- Now AI is making mediocre graphic design.jagara
- Yeah, but you still need to know what to prompt and most people and even lots of designers have no cluegrafician
- Plus there will be market saturation - if anybody can start a brand in 2 hours, how many brands do we buy at the end of the day?grafician
- so no - I think it will be just a lot MORE AI SLOP everywheregrafician
- I don't know if you realize I agree with you? I'm just saying I know that this shit will be seen as good enough by many. Buy yup, depressing slop, agreed.jagara
- Yeah, just sayinggrafician
- Funny that I was asked by a new client in a call what's my take on the new AI design capabilities
I laughed first...grafician - Like there is isn't enough graphic design slop to go around.utopian
- I don't see you posting anything utopian, all mouthgrafician
- The neck-bearded sheepherder spews nothing but bitterness and bile. No wonder you're alone—no respect, no purpose, just digital rot: petty, joyless, irrelevant, utopian

"AI
is not
our future.""Creativity is made, not generated.
Generative AI is ripping the humanity out of things. Built on a foundation of theft, the technology is steering us toward a barren future. We think machine learning is a compelling technology with a lot of merit, but the path generative AI is on is wrong for us.We're here for the humans. We're not chasing a technology that is a moral threat to our greatest jewel: human creativity. In this technological rush, this might make us an exception or seem at risk of being left behind. But we see this road less travelled as the more exciting and fruitful one for our community."

"A startup that raised $445 million claiming to revolutionize app development with artificial intelligence has collapsed — after it was revealed that the “AI” behind its operations was, in reality, 700 human engineers based in India.
Builder.ai, once backed by tech giants including Microsoft, marketed itself as a no-code platform powered by an AI assistant called “Natasha,” which could supposedly build software like assembling Lego bricks. But as Ebern Finance founder Bernhard Engelbrecht highlighted in a widely shared post on X, Natasha wasn’t an algorithm — it was a large manual operation disguised as machine intelligence."

"Builder.ai Faked Deals With VerSe to Inflate Sales"
"The artificial intelligence startup, Builder.ai, which recently revealed bankruptcy plans, reportedly fabricated business transactions with Indian social media startup, VerSe Innovation, to falsely enhance its sales. This information was obtained from documents assessed by Bloomberg and individuals who have direct knowledge of the operation."
