I'm making a quick video that will go to DVD. What settings and size do you recommend for the comp?
It should be 16:9 I guess, and 1080?
There are a lot of options.

you can't use 1080, DVD is standard def only so 640 x 360 is what you'll have to convert it to

lol @ 640x360

It's been a while, but I was pretty sure a DVD frame was 720x480.

Sorry for the jokes.
If you are certain it will only be put to DVD-Video, you could set up the comp using the DVD-Video specification. It varies depending on region.
Wikipedia has the info you need: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD…Of course, it might be wise to build it in HD and then output it using Media Encoder and the DVD-Video setting.

use the NTSC D1 or NTSC D1 Widescreen preset when creating a new comp

if you want full hd (1920x1080p) you should go BluRay

Why are all the themes so tacky?

I think Macs still have an issue with burning Blu-rays. I'm pretty sure they gave up when they stopped selling computers with superdrives.

Had to do this last week, was so much easier to convince them to let us use a laptop instead of fucking around with something that would look low res shit in the end anyway
