In all honesty, contest like these are "political"... Adidas is the official outfitter of the NBA, thus the hideous sleeved jerseys the all-stars are forced to wear and now 4 out of 6 of the dunkers are official Adidas sponsored athletes including rookie Ben McLemore. The official Adidas jerseys and shoes for this year's event are god awful.

If there are shoe designers on QBN, please go work for Adidas, they need some serious help. I've completely given up on how bad their shoes look as of late. Nike and Under Armour are kicking their ass in terms of innovation and aesthetics.

The dunk contest is so bad now. Its a circus and theres too much going on now with props and all kinds of silly shit.
To me what it should be is the best players in the sport just dunking. How can you have a dunk contest without lebron in it?? Back in the day you had the most well known nba players participating.

I am a guy in the UK who has zero interest in Basketball. It's just not my kind of game so I am coming to this thread completely cold on the subject and I need some stuff clearing up for me.
1/ Is the slam dunk contest a side show that takes part in the middle of an actual game? A half time show or something like that.
2/ Is there any call for 'designing dunks'? Don't the players just put the ball through the hoop in a fancy manner?
This whole thing reminds me of a guy who has tried to make an industry for himself in football (the global version, not the american gridiron type), where he offers his services to players where he choreographs their goal celebrations. He's a cunt. He says things like "tekkers" instead of technique.
