I'm on a budget and going for a new iMac.
Nvidia with 8gb RAM
or
Intel Iris Pro with 16gb RAM
?Nvidia will give advantage in Adobe and games, but since I can't upgrade the RAM in the long run, I'm at a crossroads here.
What would Jesus do?

the Nvidia option will also feature a little boost in the CPU..

Nvidia ... that boost will also affect browser rendering, multiple program windows, scrolling, video playback ... you name it, go for the nvidia card

were you budgeting for apple ram? buying your own sticks is way cheaper and takes 2 minutes to drop in. go with the first option and buy ram later

the RAM is not accessible on the new iMacs (21.5"), you can't upgrade later.
- humm, is ifixit sarcastic there? http://bit.ly/1arVS4…mekk
- No, they are just saying it's the same as 2012, which were already like that. http://www.macrumors…ESKEMA
- The RAM is so buried you need to completely take it apart to get there..ESKEMA
- is there a void warranty sticker? before the ram?yurimon

The Iris apparently isn't actually that much slower for day-to-day stuff (and has similar performance for openCL), only get the nvidia if you're doing a load of 3d stuff or gaming (openGL).

I will do some gaming (Skyrim, Witcher, RPGs..) via windows, and AE / Premiere (nothing too fancy).
- you will get a boost in performance in AE with Nvidia CUDA but they may add openCL support soon (premiere got it recently).kingsteven
