It's mostly used to design for mobile + web. not really enough to replace illustrator and/or ps, but comes close. http://www.bohemiancoding.com/sk…
Checking it out now.

I used this solidly for a few months. It's a really good piece of software. It's still in early stages and needs work but has huge potential to replace photoshop and illustrator entirely, but certainly not there yet.
I've moved back into adobe mainly because clients and developers don't want sketch files.
I hope they make a windows and/or ubuntu version and keep developing it as I think it could be huge.
- re: ohhhsnap - I only really design for web now so it could replace for me, maybe not for other stuff.set

Saying it could replace Illustrator or Photoshop is a HUGE statement. Sketch has some nice features but their criticisms of Adobe and Photoshop are a bit exaggerated. The biggest issue here is what set said
"I've moved back into adobe mainly because clients and developers don't want sketch files."
- But I hope Adobe is aware of the good features Sketch has.CyBrainX

it can't export to illy/ps file formats?

had to update to mavericks for it :/... i like it so far!

^ Updating for Mavericks was pure Hell for Adobe Creative Cloud, especially After Effects.

What about replacing Fireworks, neither PS or Illy are any good for web or app work anyway.

I'm hearing some really good things about this! so simple and great for interface design. When i compare to photoshop i just think theres so many unnecessary palettes going on it makes my eyes bleed.
I'd ile to get away from photoshop. Any one else thinking this?

I love sketch but as I said above the lack of windows or ubuntu support means no developer I work with wants me to use it.
Macaw seems like a promising alternative, with mac and windows versions ....

Was playing with Macaw last night. Seems pretty decent but basic.
I said to others this morning that it would be a good program for creatives to knock together quick holding pages or microsites that didn't require much "designing".
It feels very restrictive when trying to design in Macaw. Nowhere near illustrator.- Yah, I wouldn't be comfortable creating anything more than basic stuff in there, currently. Still... v1set
- $180 only for v1 seems a bit much, I think.set
- its had a fair bit of user testing through dev seemingly.microkorg
- plus the money will help them fund more features and specmicrokorg
- Sure, I just don't imagine it's really going to be worth that until v2set
