using an old camera i would imagine... didn't ralph lauren do this kind of thing for one of their campaigns?

with a prime lens, shallow dof
you could still tone it that color during film development with silver sulfide to get the medium brown red for sepia toning
as far as digital, i'd say cross processing
as well as period models / wardrobe / set for either shoot.

scan the prints - for authentic dust and scratchesphotoshop extra light leaks and text and rough edges --- though I'd try do as much in camera and in print as possible.
