For those with portfolio websites, what is your main source of traffic?
Is it people finding your link on your social media, or are you written up on a blog?
Or do people stalk you or google your name?
Curious how people get most of their traffic/potential work.

Social media is the biggest driver because it has the greatest reach. If you use social media and blogs you basically cover the main paths for people to find you.

My main source is as a direct result of mailing people with the link, and that's intentional on my part. I don't want just everyone seeing my stuff.
I get some traffic from searches on my name, but all they get is a landing page with an email CTA to ask me for the link to my book.
Hope that helps, fredddddd.

Twitter is my biggest referrer.

Getting work is entirely separate from my website traffic.
For securing work I rely primarily on referrals and word of mouth.
My website used to get 1-3 hits per day. Then about a year and a half ago I wrote a blog post that got a bit of traction and now I get about 10 visitors per day. But from that I've only had a handful of inquiries and only 1 or 2 have translated into semi-decent gigs.
In terms of getting traffic, I'd say leverage social media like others have said, or publish some blog posts on topics of interest.
