How is everyone liking it? I don't like the redesigned Android-like icons? Any reason not to upgrade?

16gb iphone 4 here and the update is treating me splendid. I am a fan.

There's a thread aaallll about it.

I liked it at first. The animated elements are overkill now that I've been using it for a bit, especially when I want to get to things fast. iMessages stopped working for me. Lots and lots of little bugs that need to be fixed. I like the design and functionality of it, for the most part. Not crazy about Safari tho.

Freedom kindly disregard any answers, comments, suggestions, feedback, and thumbs-up from Apple shareholders, Apple stockholders and or Apple fanboys.

as stated iPad great, iphone good. Took a min for me to adjust and get used to it, went from "its cool" to really liking it the more I use it.

It's ok. I really don't notice much besides some fluffy, "Flash" like animations (the, ahem, "reason" that Jobs killed Flash...so easily people forget). It is graphically much nicer than iOS 6 (anything was better than that, though).
Conclusion: worth installing, makes you feel like you have a newer phone (mine is a 4S, works just fine). Texting looks horrible, imho.
Not really anything "new", though, just a less cumbersome looking interface.
I think it deserves a solid B- or C+

scrolling through songs fast is a jumpy mess, app updates never seems to be accurate

Its ok, but I had to turn off that auto app store update feature. It was murdering my battery. I swear it had to be draining twice as fast as it used to. I would go to bed, and wake up with the battery like 15-20% less than when I went to bed because the damn thing was checking for and downloading updates all night long.
Turned it off and its MUCH better now. Overall its ok, but it needs to be refined a bit. Theres some weird things about it, other things that are just sloppy that could use improving.

One of my biggest pet peeves with iOS7 is not with the OS itself but with app developers not rolling out stable releases of new apps for iOS7. One of my favorite apps, Pulse, is super bugged out now. Sucks.

My wife updated her iPhone 5 to iOS 7 and wants to roll back, she finds it too much like andriod, and kind of buggy...
I am surprised how much like "everything else" (android/windows phone) it looks .... so much for that amazingly unique apple look....
Maybe iOS7 will be Apple's VISTA, and the next version might be good...

- Exactly. Stock price is directly related to how bad iOS7 is. Has nothing to do with the banks.monospaced

Simply put, iOS 7 is proof that Apple has nothing left. This was the last product update they'll ever due, and it's clear that they are bound to fail and disappear shortly.
As we all know, Steve Jobs wasn't just the CEO, he was the interface designer, product designer and chip designer. He also hand-machined the aluminum cases after hours. Fact.
When Steve died, Apple lost their entire R&D department, as well as the head of creative and design. The result is that they had to turn to the last 3-4 people working there—the interns and assistants—and asked them to redesign the OS and chips. Of course, since Apple has sucked for so long—losing money hand-over-fist quarter after quarter, failing to sell anything—they had to do it using the last $100,000 they had sitting in the bank, with the lights off to save power. Google offered them money, but Tim Cook told them to bugger off. Smug assholes.
To make a long story short, iOS 7 is ugly, inconsistent, and about 3 years behind the tech curve. It has the worst screen (smallest), and the slowest processor. The apps suck, the interface sucks, and worst of all Apple doesn't even have customer support, in any form, if you have an issue with it. No storefronts, no phone number, nothing.
Stay away at all cost.

I like the new functionality features: iTunes Radio, swipe up control center, flashlight, etc. but the flat design I don't love.
16 gb iPhone 4. It runs a little bit slow but so what. It's a fucking phone.- < brainwashed member of the Apple religious cultmonospaced
