also, alcohol would be in some serious demand for both medical and recreational purposes so i'd probably do a lot of brewing and distilling. maybe grow tobacco.
if you can cater to people's vices you'll never have to worry.

I'd help out with general communal stuff, strong, quick learner. I'd also sing uplifting songs around the fire for extra soup and to win your daughter's favor.

if we're talking post-apocalyptic fan-shit-hitting, i could carry my weight in a surviving community by setting up and maintaining solar energy systems. i'm also good with lighting and sound so i guess if there were parties i could cover that.
most lucrative would probably be growing mushrooms and weed
- wow. true... didn't think of the possibility of learning how to grow psychedelics. nice.ohhhhhsnap

I haven't seen any of these guys in my area this year, there are a few hornets around though....and so this question has been haunting me. I still think that creating a very close community where different ppl know different survival skills might be great -- i guess it's just THE trusting that close nit community which may be hard. Though we are wired to doubt in dire situations. idk

i'd like to think i'd do alright.
i've worked on our family (desert) farm... driving tractors, plowing fields, building barns, tending to livestock.
i have woodworking/furniture-making experience.
i can hunt... i'm a pretty good shot, and can gut and clean kills.
hehe.
