Holy... If I knew the guys name, I actually had someone invite my wife and I back to his place to smoke and drink wine in Montmartre last summer. On Rue Gabrielle across from a locked park, there's a little market. The guy was always around there at night. Had a beard or mustache/goatee. If you meet someone like that who tells you he was an architect, you've found your guy.
I'm not making any of this up.
