I thought they did a pretty good job. Can't wait for more.

I thought it was pretty bad. The first 20 minutes they're just flying through space haphazardly. Theres no real real narrative. The art direction was all over the place. The CG looked good in some places but lousy in others. I like Neil, but he wasn't engaging in this.
They should have got the Planet Earth people to direct.

Doesn't explain consciousness, therefore it's all bullshit. ;)

LOVED IT.
Fuck yeah. And the cosmos graphics were amazing. It was kind of wandering and esoteric for the first 10 - 20mins... instantly thought, yup, people are going to hate on this.

I could watch images of space with that Alan Silvestri for hours... (or Vangelis)

WIth 13 episodes I'm sure the bulk of the series will be more in-depth and less broad as the premiere. Loved the original and where they are taking the new version as well.

Watched it last night, decent. they had some really good effects in there, some were unnecessary (not really telling the story) like that fucking space ship, but then i thought maybe that was to appeal more for kids and Christians, especially the cartoon animated section, but information wise it was right up there with 'the Universe' and 'Through the wormhole'. I liked it, though I own all the Universe and wormhole seasons, I just dig all that shit.
- The spaceship was probably an homage to the original. I too love this shit.monospaced

What they said:
We are smaller than a spec of dust in the universe and don't know anything at all.

im glad this show is back with updated information, thins are moving so fast now that a science documentary from 2005 is probabbly wrong with the new discoveries.
i saw some people on the internet complaining about the amount of visual effects and the shallowness of the science facts.
but this is a prime time show, it need great visuals to support the ideas, or else the audience get lost, and I think they nailed it.i'm waiting next sunday for ep03!
