I'm trying to follow along with this tutorial on time-based expressions.
http://www.motionscript.com/mast…
I'm stuck on the "Follow Null Template" section towards the bottom next to the blue stars. When I put the script on the null I get an error about not finding the effect named offset. I took a wild guess that the null layer ("template") needed a Slider effect. That didn't work So, I tried naming that effect "offset". No luck either. Here's a screen shot.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Probably referencing a variable called "offset" that determines the amount of delay between items. Check the source code and make sure you've declared all necessary variables.
- < Checked the tutorial code. They are setting a variable 'offset' using the effect slider. You're prob just missing a line.ifeltdave

Wild guess?
"Follow the Null
The solution to this is not exactly straight forward, but it's a useful concept that's worth investing some time to understand. Here's how we do it. The key is that we use keyframes to animate the position of a 3D null to define a "template" for the path that our other layers will follow. The duration of the null's animation isn't critical - I generally use something like four seconds and name the null "template". You then add two sliders to the null - the first one (name it "offset") controls the separation between layers and the other one (name it "travel") defines the percentage of travel along the path."
it says right there you need two sliders on template, one "offset" and another one "travel"...

OK, I got it. I had to name the first slider template with a lower case t and add the second slider "travel"
