i thought this was an interesting part of the story.
The US military blocks access to the newspaper that offers the most cover to the story

oh yea, that and the claim that the US was bugging allies in the EU.

So, he's considered a spy: he was spying on the government.
Now they're after him and he has to go into exile. At the same time the same government was exposed of spying on the rest of the worlds governmental outposts, tapping diplomatic buildings and embassies, even the UN.
Reminds me of a distant song...
So what's the governments response? A joke about Europeans wanting to know what Obama had for breakfast.
Smooth.

What did he leak besides that we spy on China?
- That the US spies on its own citizens with the help of Apple/Google/etc, spies on EU, etc.i_monk
- and we didn't know this already?sea_sea
- That we tap to the european embassies.wagshaft
- He let us know what we already knew. What a crime. LmaoCygnusZero4

Years later...I am still waiting for Julian Assange and Wikileaks to "drop the bomb - about U.S. banks" as he claimed that this would infuriate the world...it's never going to happen or more likely he never had nothing on them.
- Weyland0
Julian Assange is such a vain douchebag, even Wikileaks hates his guts now, Bradley Manning is the daring hero, don't get it twisted
- good doc: https://www.youtube.…Weyland
- Not really, he's still the one running Wikileaksukit2
- It's in the government's interest to make you hate these guysukit2

SNOWDEN LIVES

"As the mainstream American press goes after NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden and Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald, the leakers' revelations are becoming an afterthought."

Did you know there's a movie out now with giant robots and dinosaurs?

Doesn't seem to be working though
http://www.quinnipiac.edu/instit…
American voters say 55 - 34 percent that Edward Snowden is a whistle-blower, rather than a traitor, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today.
In a massive shift in attitudes, voters say 45 - 40 percent the government's anti-terrorism efforts go too far restricting civil liberties, a reversal from a January 14, 2010, survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University when voters said 63 - 25 percent that such activities didn't go far enough to adequately protect the country.
- Conclusion: Voters change their mind like the wind.i_monk
- Sometimes they do. Gay marriage is another example. On most things though, Americans are pretty set in their beliefs and will root for their "team" no matter what.ukit2
- beliefs and will root for their "team" no matter what.ukit2
- once it reaches 60% there will be a false flag to swing opinions in the other direction.yurimon
