Checkout the interval and pause options for controlling the animation.

Why would a normal bit of HTML not work in Bootstrap?
If normal HTML doesn't work in it then maybe it shouldn't be used in the first place

Anyone know how I might pause that auto-rotate? I'm assuming it's in the carousel.js file.

You are getting some errors:
"Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined"
Which means jQuery is not loaded by the time you call your function. It looks like it's linked correctly but it may not be loading in time. Try moving your script to the footer below the link to jQuery.

STOP EVERYTHING
I just followed the example that Maaku posted and got it working with transitions:
http://twitterbootstrap.mg33.net…It might be that I'd left out the Interval portion of the function.

OK, after some issues with my Internet going down, I got this up on my site.
Here's the version I created from a tutorial on YouTube:
http://twitterbootstrap.mg33.net…Here's where I'm trying to integrate it into a page;
http://twitterbootstrap.mg33.net…Here's the tutorial, btw:
I assume this is pretty much following the Twitter Bootstrap example here, which is sort of where I started. http://twitter.github.io/bootstr…
- FYI - saving formatting stuff for later, just want to know how to get the transition working.mg33

Gotta learn to debug when working with JS. Open Firebug (or the equivalent) in your browser and click on the Console tab...any error will show up there.

This tutorial helped me for the basic setup:
- Works fine for me too:

Got a dev server somewhere so we can help debug it? Sounds like a JS conflict.

^ Not sure, and, I'm working on it locally otherwise I'd like to it.

Works fine for me. Do you have other animations on the page that may conflict with it?

Thank you. I assume that if I'm already using Twitter Bootstrap, it's possible to add that alongside it?

I prefer foundation, they have great documentation http://foundation.zurb.com/docs/…
- +1 for foundation.Crack_Junkie
- -99 for the carousel (Orbit) plugin. It worked so badly I pulled it out in the end.thecreativefire

Has anyone built a carousel feature using bootstrap? I've been looking at some examples, and did a tutorial, but none of them end up doing exactly what the tutorial shows.
Ex: http://twitter.github.io/bootstr…
If you follow that code perfectly, you still don't get the smooth transition, and they don't really offer anything further about that.I'm kind of new to bootstrap but thought I'd spend some time this week learning the basics and building a one-page project portfolio/resume.
If anyone has worked with it a lot, and there's some tip you have about how the transition works, I'd appreciate it.
