I think he means a progressive jpeg... which is just an option when saving. But I don't think all modern browsers even support the functionality any more.

^ doesn't that only load some of the images until you scroll down? I don't need that. I want all the images on a page to load, but with a fade-in.

I see some sites seem to have their images fade in rather than load slowly line by line (if you have a slow connection).
What's the best way to have images load on a fade?
