Not mad @ it
- meffid0
Some simple math:
1 TB / ( 300 MB / month ) = ~ 291 years.
Way to disappoint, Yahoo/Flickr.

for $49.99 a year, all ads on the site will be removed, and you'll get access to the standard set of Flickr analytics. For $499.99, you can double your storage space to 2TB.
- ernexbcn0
I think those limits were removed, when people checked that page wasn't updated yet:

With a free Flickr account you have
1 Terabyte of space for photos and videos. With a Doublr account you have
2 Terabytes of space for photos and videos. With a Flickr Pro account
you may use an unlimited amount of space.Since May 20, 2013, Pro accounts can no longer be purchased. You can enjoy unlimited storage as long as your Pro account is active. If your Pro account expires, it will revert to a free account with a storage limit of 1 Terabyte.

Help / FAQ / Free Accounts, Upgrading and Gifts
What’s the difference between a Free, Ad Free, and Doublr account?
There are three kinds of accounts to choose from at Flickr, and all of them are awesome in their own way.
Free:
1 Terabyte of photo and video storage
Upload photos of up to 200MB per photo
Upload 1080p HD videos of up to 1GB each
Video playback of up to 3 minutes each
Upload and download in full original quality
Ad Free:$49.99 per year
All the benefits of a free account
No ads in your browsing experience
Doublr:$499.99 per year
2 Terabytes of photo and video space
All the benefits of a free account
Permalink | TopWhat's a Terabyte?
Short answer: 1 trillion bytes.
What’s a byte, you ask? All right, we’ll bite. A byte is a teensy unit of measurement for digital information, usually containing 8 bits. (One byte generally contains enough information for a single character on a computer.) Even though one byte is itty-bitty, a trillion bytes is a whole lotta space -- that's over 500,000 photos to share and enjoy in their original, brilliant quality. Snap away!

Recurring Pro users currently have the ability to renew.
Eligible Pro members have the option to switch to a Free account until 8/20/2013.

How much space do I have on Flickr?
Depending on your Flickr account, you have a different amount of available space:
With a free Flickr account you have 1 Terabyte of space for photos and videos.
With a Doublr account you have 2 Terabytes of space for photos and videos.
With a Flickr Pro account you may use an unlimited amount of space.
Please note that the available amount of space is subject to the Yahoo! Terms of Service. To avoid abuse of our free space, we monitor accounts for excessive usage or unusual upload and behavior patterns, as our goal is to ensure that everyone has reliable access to their amazing photos and videos on Flickr.Permalink | Top
How do I activate my gift of Pro?
Yay! It's easy! Find the activation code you received from your friend (as a gift card or in an email) and go to the Activate your Gift Code page.
If you don't have a Flickr account, we'll help you set one up.

Terrible redesign. Considering unsubscribing from them. It's also a serious RAM hog.

So is this a good place to store family photos? Easy to keep private...just as a backup?
