stupid story non related,
first time I took a plane I thought I could open the door and eat the clouds,
I was 6 and no one has YET to prove me it can't be done- It can be done, but you'll be eating the ground shortly afterwards.CygnusZero4
- I fully support you attempting this.monospaced

Once upon a time, en route from ZRH to JFK, we had to make an emergency landing in Hamsterdam, where we were boarded by a gang of Policemen/Military men in special op outfits and dogs. They were looking for a bomb on our plane. I'm here to tell the story so a. they found it and removed it from the plane or b. there was no bomb on board. I never found out.
Another time, same route, we had to do an emergency landing in Greenland (!), because the plane had run out of fuel. That was with TWA, back in the day...
Ladies and Gentlemen, we have some good news and some bad news. The good news: we are ahead of schedule, the bad news: we ran out of fuel...
- seems like you skipped your turn. You can fly safe now.Beeswax

is there anything that can knock me down in an instant if I ever happen to be in a falling plane?
I don't think they allow chloroform on a plane.- Make out with a girl. Either it'll be bliss or shell knock you out cold!instrmntl
- Instantly? Not sure about that.CygnusZero4

I just had 30 min of plane throwing turbulence over the dead center of the Pacific. You kinda just got to accept the worst at times and don't let it get to you.

I remember when that Continental DC10 cartwheeled down a runway in Iowa about 25 years ago. I was flying to Guam about a week later - found out it was on a bloody Continental DC10! Luckily I was upgraded to first class so I just got hammered and fell asleep.
