I loved this when I heard it first. After maybe three more listens, I hated it. Completely. It appalls me to hear it! Do the assembled excellencies agree or disagree that the way music is now marketed accelerates its lifespan detrimentally?

Yup. Music these days is basically chinese food.

Wow, I've discovered how to love it again. By listening to Cotton Eye Joe for over one minute and then listening to the Daft Punk track again, it's like I am hearing again for the first time.

It would be better if they cut out Pharrell's vocals and just used the vocoder part during the breakdown.
I know what you mean though, it's kind of mediocre. Hopefully the rest of the album is different.

I think everyone deep down inside wishes that daft punk was this sort of underground project, that only a few people knew about. But that was never the case with them, they were always a commercial-poppy project that had underground appeal.
It just sucks that your grandma who just got an iphone, is sending you this track on facebook and asking things like 'oh my lord, the girls were playing this song during the bridge game last sunday, I thought you might like it, they are called 'daft punk'
